***Scroll down, I am on about my 4th post of our trip and the whole story is in the first post, I am posting pictures of our various stops and adventures at each stop along the way!
After visiting Miami and Hueston Woods it was on to Toledo and Perrysburg for some family time! Jon had done some excellent research and found a great KOA in Toledo and near Perrysburg to Park the rv safely for a few nights. We moved out of the RV for a few days and into Mimi and Papa's new home and got to try out their new guest rooms and freshly remodeled bathrooms! We enjoyed the beautiful river views morning noon and night, made a HUGE laundry pit stop (THANK YOU MIMI FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP WITH THIS) and enjoyed real showers! The first night we were fortunate to have dinner with both Mimi and Papa and Grandma and Grandpa all together. We are so thankful our families work together so we can make the most of our time together when we are in the Toledo area. The next day after waking up and enjoying the river views our items I had ordered to re-stock from amazon arrived, we enjoyed the river views and deck for morning coffee and breakfast and we even saw a BABY FAWN tucked safely in the hillside by her mother!! I think we also saw a ground hog!! The kids enjoyed exploring the hillside up and down to the river and back multiple times.
We realized there was a camping world nearby so hit that up for some RV stuff we needed and then went to visit more with Grandma and Grandpa. We had a delicious lunch and then the kids enjoyed the simple joy of running through the sprinkler for a while. It was hot while we were in Ohio we hit those few weeks where they get those soaring midwest scorching temps so they really enjoyed this and have not done this before!! Everyone has well water sprinkler systems here and its just not something we do in Florida with rough grass and fire ants potentially in the grass! It was very much a back to basics trip and they loved it. Sarabeth also enjoyed playing with the doll house at Grandma's house that was mine and my sisters growing up.
That night we visited with the Burrows and had dinner at their home, and also saw the Sherman's that afternoon! It was a jam packed visit as it always is. Before we knew it, it was time to head to the lake for the long awaited long 4th of July holiday weekend!!! Here are some pictures from our time in Toledo and Perrysburg.

Miami University and Hueston Woods Big Blue Summer Trip 2020 Continued
After a few days in the mountains we spent one night at a KOA in Corbin Kentucky and then had another half day drive to make it to our next destination, Oxford Ohio and Hueston Woods. We stayed at Hueston Woods for one night and spent an afternoon and evening exploring Miami's campus. This was one of our favorite parts of the trip. I was 18 when I was dropped off there, lived there for4 years and ironically it has been 18 years since either Jon or I have been back to the campus! It was so amazing to see the campus and show the kids the places we lived. The campus was in immaculate condition, clearly they have used these months with no students as every single building was gleaming with fresh paint and nothing was at all out of order. I really was so proud to show the kids the campus and to step back and remember what a great school Miami really is and all of the wonderful memories we have from those year...so many fun moments, moments of personal growth, life changing moments and decisions made, and to quote Dr. Shriver "to think in such a place I lived such a life". This is a really true statement that applies to a Miami undergrad college experience. We explained to the kids also how many relatives have gone to Miami and how many of their aunts and uncles have gone there.......Jack is all in.......we will see out of state tui
tion is 39k but if he got in and I felt he could handle it I would let him do it. He has 6 big years to show me his is mature is all I can say! One day at a time. Sb was more quiet and did not at all like the concept of living in a dorm and not being home.....such a difference in personalities and also ages. We assured her she does not have to move far away for college if she does not want to and this is just a wonderful place that was not too far for us when we were in college.
We parked the rv RIGHT ON HIGH STREET as there was no one there, had lunch at Bagel and Deli (has not changed at all) and hit up the bookstore across the street before taking a break from the heat to check into Hueston Woods (an amazingly beautiful Ohio state park I never saw in the 4 years I lived there) and then we headed back to campus to further explore and had dinner amazingly at one of Jon's favorite haunts...Mac and Joe's!! We even found a beautiful covered bridge on the way back to the park after leaving campus. We got some great photos and really enjoyed our time here. It was inspiring and rejuvenating to see a place we loved so much looking so much the same and further right outside the dorm I lived there was a huge banner touting "95% law school acceptance"....darn right!
