A week and a half ago we snuck away for a long weekend with friends on a Disney Dream cruise to the Bahamas! We went concierge for the first time as it was only a 3 day Friday to Monday cruise and we were extra spoiled as a result on our Halloween on the High Seas Cruise! First of all the concierge guests get to check in in a much smaller saner area with no waiting. Then they are the first people to board the ship once it clears customs...no joke we were the FIRST FAMILY to get to board for our cruise. I have no idea how that happened as there were other families in the concierge area waiting but somehow we ended up first in line when they opened it up to board. The kids will likely talk about that for years!
Our room was amazing we had two bathroom, one which was giant, and an enclosed bedroom and then large living area with a pull down single bed for Jackson as well as a full pull out sofa for Sarabeth. We had two large tvs, free movies, free room service, and access to the concierge lounge, extra treats, and concierge pool and sundeck only area as well as a private concierge only character viewing. It was pretty amazing but honestly just getting away for a few days was the best part. We went with our friends and so had adult dinners two of the three nights at the nicer restaurants while all the kids were in the kids zone which is the best thing by far for kids on the Disney ship! New on this cruise for the first time ever Jackson was tall enough to ride alone on the aquaduck with Sarabeth, that was quite a milestone but most of the time we still rode it as a family as it is just a fun thing to do together, with the boys riding together in a tube and the girls riding together in a tube. The ride is a two person ride so it works out with the 4 of us. We had such a short cruise we had no "sea day" so we stayed on the ship the day we were in Nassau since we have been there many times. This gave us time to really enjoy all that the ship has to offer which is really what Disney Cruises are all about. We met some princesses, I went to the spa early that morning for a massage, and Jackson got some extra kids club play time, and we also of course hit up the Bippity Boppity Boutique. The second full day we were at Disney's private island Castaway Cay for a beach day in the beautiful Bahamas. The day was a perfect day and just when I started to feel like we were on vacation, alas it was time to go back to Florida where Monday hit us hard with a 7:30 departure from the ship but at least we had the whole day home to regroup before going to school and work the next day.
