Summer fun at the lake!

We have spent a lot of time this summer enjoying our lake house, especially after the destruction Hurricane Irma caused last year which took our boathouse out of action for nearly 9 months and cost a lot of $$$ to repair, we wanted to enjoy it this summer after all of that!  So far we have been blessed to spend two full weeks there, a week in June right after school got out which is always a much needed time for a break and while in the past we have taken big trips it was really nice just to have this more calm week at the lake this year to kind of re-group after the busy end of season and end of the school year as we headed into the summer.  We also spent a week there the week of the 4th of July which was also really nice! This was a weird 4th of July this year with the holiday falling on a Wednesday, it was quieter than normal at the lake for sure!  We had friends visit the weekend prior but they had to leave Sunday to head back to work for those few days before the holiday...that did not bother me though, my favorite time at the lake in this very busy season of life for our family is when we are there JUST THE FOUR OF US:)

In between our weeks at the lake we have been working quite a bit and have both had a busier work summer than normal.  I am involved in two very large transactions, one that fingers crossed will close this Wednesday just as we prepare to head out of town to fly north for the event of the summer which is Aunt Megan's wedding!  The kids have been spoiled this summer attending various camps including the Environmental Learning Center where Jackson got to go kayaking, canoeing and to the beach even as well as a water park, the Moorings golf and tennis and swim camp, theater and art camp including recently a week with the theme of the movie The Greatest Showman complete with an amazing live show on Fridays for Sarabeth...and even some math and reading camps to keep us learning and focused on school.

We leave this Wednesday for Orlando after work and are then planning to fly north Thursday morning for the wedding weekend followed by our family vacation in Northern Michigan!  We are very excited to finally be taking a trip I have wanted to do for a long time...we are heading to Petoskey where we have an overnight planned at the Bayview Inn, and a visit with friends on Lake Waloon, followed by 4 days and three nights in Mackinac Island staying at the Grand Hotel, followed by a trip over to the Sleeping Bear Dunes and two more nights at the Homestead Resort.  We plan to stop and stretch our legs and have the wonderful chicken lunch at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmouth on the way north Sunday after the wedding, and we plan  to see Leland Michigan and any other cute little towns on the way from Mackinac over to the Sleeping Bear Dunes!  We are excited for a family weddign and then a week of adventure in Northern Michigan.

For now here are some fun shots from this summer at the lake thus far!
