All Moved in

Phew, what a weekend that was!!  We are moved and fairly well unpacked.  Sorry for no house pictures, but those will be coming.  I don't have internet at my house until like june 6th (seriously, how did we get cable but no internet yet) so bear with me.  I am at work now and jeopardizing billable time and time that I could be working to get OUT of here faster to do this post:)  Here are some pictures from our whirlwind weekend visit with Mimi, Papa, and Uncle Jay and the move.  We had a nice visit, and were thankful for their help and I know that Jackson really adored seeing them all and sharing a bit of his current life with them and especially he loved sharing his special 4th birthday party we had with them on Saturday night!!  He even had spidey (spiderman) gift bags for Papa and Jay and asked them after dinner "hey guys, you forgot your treat bags"), ha.  He was totally serious and that is my favorite thing about him right now!!

moving...visitors and SB'S FIRST STEPS!!

We are in tear down mode at the Porpoise Point house, the moving truck officially comes tomorrow but we are suprisingly organized.  Jon and I have worked our tails off since last weekend moving loads so mostly just the furnitue and some food and our essential clothing remains at the old house.  We have unpacked the kitchen, bathrooms and the kids rooms and set up their closets already and new furniture we've ordered is being delivered today to the new house, Jon has met the cleaning lady out there for a quote, the yard guy, pool people and direct tv so things are all moving along.  In the midst of this Mimi, Papa and Uncle Jay arrived in town late last night to help out this weekend and this morning, in front of Mimi and I  and Papa, SB decided it was a good time to TAKE HER FIRST STEPS!  She took 4-5 good steps and when I got all excited and started jumping around, Mimi also realized that this was special and NOT something that had happened before and I think SB would have taken more steps if we had not scared her into falling down!  So exciting though to get to see this and in the midst of this move of all times, lol.

Stay tuned, pictures coming soon as we get through today and tomorrow!!

Nanny Ann

Our Nanny Ann is THE BEST decision we/I have made in a long long time!!!  People, I am more productive at work knowing SB is home and safe and sound and sleeping well for her naps and not in a germ abyss, and I also maxmize having someone at my house when I am not there to do things.  Ann arrives at 8 am each morning and helps Jack to finish getting dressed/brush teeth/brush hair/tie shoes, etc. and she makes them a hot breakfast to their request when she first gets there while I finish getting ready for the day.  Jon leaves early most days and is gone way before she gets there so it is a big help to me.  She loads and unloads the dishwasher as needed during the week and she runs and folds all laundry.  When we move she has even said I need to teach her where things to to be put away.  She and SB also have discovered that they LOVE to do the grocery shopping and get out a bit so they've got a routine now where they run errands every other day or so and do all of the weekly grocery shopping, pick up birthday gifts and wrap them at home while SB sleeps and she and SB will run other random errands like dry cleaning, or dropping stuff to be donated or consigned, they run to the post office, mail packages, do ALL of the things that pile up in my car during the week and now that I am self employed and working more hours, I just DO NOT have the time to do.  Ann is a wonderful person and a wonderful addition to our household.. and we are SO thankful to have her in our lives!!  Picture coming soon once we move and I locate my camera:)

Moving.............

We are in the midst of a MAJOR house move.  This will be the 4th place Jon and I have lived since we've been married...and in 7 years...tomorrow is our SEVEN year anniversary, where did those years go??!!  When I think about the many changes in our lives since May 21, 2005 (and places we've lived all in one county) it seems like 7 years but when I think back on our special day and the littlest details I remember, like sitting up on the alter, and just being so happy gazing out at everyone during mass, making eye contact with a few people that grinned right back at me, it seems like yesterday.  Crazy how far we have come and the greatest two little people who have come into our lives since that time!

Back to the move..........we made MAJOR progress this weekend and good thing as we don't have the luxury of being able to take really any time off other than this coming Friday and the moving truck comes Satuday!! Jon borrowed a trailer from a friend today and got the entire garage moved.  I would load up boxes and he would run the loads back and forth and also, int eh midst of that, I had two birthday partys today that I had to take the kids to...crazy, and we had Jackson's birthday party yesterday..........not a restful weekend at all and we are SORE today from all of the shuffling and moving.  I feel like we have gotten rid of a TON of stuff and each time we move we pair down a bit (hopefully we don't move again for A WHILE)  I don't think this is the forever house...it is a good step in the right direction but we will have to see.  I do think it will be a great neighborhood and place for us for some time and the house is DONE, move in ready which is what we need right now.  We need to paint to our taste but the main upgrades have already been done (and on someone else's dime) which is always nice.  We need to replace some outdoor light fixtures, we put up the baby fence around the pool tonight (already with the house) nice again as I've paid for this once already at the Sebastian house, NOT cheap.  Since the last time we bought a house we were the first owner, it is NICE this time around to move into a house and NOT be the first owner as there already things like BLINDS in the windows, etc.  We had to do that all from scratch ourselves the last time, there is landscaping, etc. so that helps.  It will be a hard week for us but in a few weeks as we settle in this will all be worth it.

Updates and photos later in the week!!

Jackson's Class Mother's Day Breakfast

mother's day as a mommy of two

Today is my first mother's day as a mommy of two.  What an amazing, exciting, BUSY and crazy year this has been!  Last year at this time we went to brunch at Disney and I think I probably spent the last half of the day resting my large belly full of SB on the couch:)  This year we are packing like maniacs as we are set to move in under two weeks now and also of all the crazy things, we had a first birthday to attend today!  The most important thing though is that we spent the day together.  Jon took me on a little date last night, we met our nanny Ann at the cell phone store first to add her to our cell plan (perk of the job, lucky nanny) and then we went out for sushi dinner at our favorite local sushi place and we ended the night with a trip to our local theater for the comedy zone show.  They do this about once a month in the summer months down here, they bring comedians from all over the country and it is jus tsomething different to do and really close to our house!  We were home, exhausted, and fast asleep by 11:00!!  We  have been trying to get out more often now as the weeks are so busy and full, we realize we need this down time together.  Happy Mother's day to all of our moms and grandmas and sisters and sister in laws out there:)

two weeks with our nanny Ann

We are closing in on two weeks now with Ann helping our family out and it is wonderful.  The kids have both been sick, she was able to help with Dr. appointments, and to fill in with a few school pick ups and trips to Karate, and she is so helpful to me in the morning as I rush to get ready with two little ones under foot and Jon long gone for work before 7am.  I also have not done a load of laundry except on the weekend in almost two weeks, and again, other than weekends, we have not had to touch the dishwasher.  SHe sets the table each night before dinner and is even making dinner for tonight!!  She and Sb went on a trip to the grocery store this morning which she said they both enjoyed.   I think we are going to make this a Friday tradition.  Ann texted me when they got home and said all eyes were on SB at the store today and that they had so much fun.  Sb has also gone from napping like 30 minutes TOTAL the entire day to sleeping 3-4 hours each and every day like a baby should do. They go for daily stroller walks and also she gets out and swings in her swing in the backyard, no more being stuck in one room all day.  There was just too much going on at the school for her to settle in and sleep, she is very nosy  and inquisitive, not one to just lay down and tune it all out.  I hope to remember to get a picture of Ann to post for you all, she is a wonderful addition to our household and she loves Jackson and Sarabeth very much!

beautiful girl....

Sarabeth is feeling better (finally) and we are all starting to catch up on much needed sleep (too bad Jon and I don't have the luxury of taking two naps in one day thta equal a total of nearly 5 hours of time like Sarabeth can)!!!  That is what she did yesterday...lucky Ann!!!

I snapped some quick pictures of our lively and very active little 11 month old girl last night after bath time...she is always on the move and I had some really weird lighting to work with so sorry, not the best pictures but you can see her beautiful face and see her active little personality coming out in these.

Her new favorite toy is Jackson's play kitchen and the basket of play food!  We have put it out in the family room for right now.  She loves to open the cabinets and close them, and to load and unload the food into the basket!  So cute,  Jack never plays with this anymore so we will move it over to her new room once we move.

catching up....

It has been a weekend filled with sickness at our house..ironic after I spend the big bucks and SB spent her first week home with our new nanny, Ann!!  Thursday when I got home Ann said SB felt warm when she got up from her afternoon nap and sure enough, she had a low temperature.  I gave her some tylenol and did not think much more of it until around 12:30 am when she woke later on BURNING hot.  This was JUST like the episode we recently went through a few weeks ago with 4 days of a high fever, and just a runny nose as the only other symptom followed by the rash of Roseola.  I think we are in for that again as the same scenario is play itself out again, ugh.  I am sure the cuprit is big brother Jackson (aka germ carrier) who is now also sick.  Jack woke up Friday with a full blown cold and of course due to his asthma is coughing his head off and generally down for the count.  So, its been a weekend filled with Jon and I playing triage for the kids and no one has had much sleep.  Really, this has been going on since Thursday afternoon.  Friday SB went to the Dr. Ann took her as Jon and I had commitments we could not cancel on the fly (good thing the thinker in me had already prepared signed notarized medical authorization forms, etc. even though it was just her first week)!!!  They tested SB for everything under the sun, even the flu, and checked her kidneys and came up with "its a virus".  Seriously..........she is getting better but gave us a bad scare Sat pm.  She woke around 12:00 and was so hot, I took her temp and on the under arm crap thermometer it was over 104 so I contemplated just getting in the car to go to the hospital but then quickly decided maybe I should just put her in teh tub to try to bring it down first and then decide.  We did just that and while she was NOT happy with me, the fever did drop to 101 and with meds and constant monitoring the rest of the night, it did not spike again.  Even though she is almost 1, when she is sick she prefers to sleep in the swing and since she's so small, she still fits so that is what she did!!  I set my alarm and woke every two hours to check her temp and give meds and liquids as needed, phew.  HOpe this is the last of the sickness for a while!!

In other more exciting news, we got a new nephew this past week, Edward Dennis Ehrmin was born Thursday May 3rd in the evening. I would post pics, but I don't have any so if you are on facebook, check them out, he looks perfect, congrats Frances, Denny and big sister Lucy...let the fun and games begin Eddie!!  This family has waited just under 4 years for another little boy.

We are still on track to close on our new house May 16th, we are in full blown packing mode and things are coming along pretty well with that.  They are showing the house like crazy so that is really not fun...good thing we move in a few weeks.  Counting down the days..........

Got to run, I'm at work now trying to catch up as the past few weeks have been so busy and the firm is expanding...I've hired a part time paralegal to help out with real estate and fill in with some probate and estate planning and other stuff as needed and we've acquired a second office space on my floor. Jon has been busy networking the computers, files, hooking in the printer, etc. and the phones (my IT guy, THANK GOODNESS as I know nothing about this) and I have been busy setting up the space.  The space has great furniture and great use of space and hte lady paid around 10k for it and had it custom fit to the office and sold it to me for my low ball sorry offer of $500.00...seriously, I thought she would counter back with something but she TOOk my offer so we are just about ready to roll with that.  Never a dull moment.........
