Pre-school Emmy's and Western Day

Here are some pictures from a few special theme Fridays at Jack's pre-school.  The kids are winding down with their days as a pre-school class and the school has planned lots of fun field trips and themed Fun Fridays for these ending weeks.  Last week Friday Jack had western day and the Friday before that he had to dress up (just for the morning) for the Emmy Awards.  When we got to his school that Friday there were stars on the floor outside his classroom with their names on it just like in Hollywood and there was even a real red carpet set out in the middle hallway of the school!

around our house these days

Life is busy around our house these days.  We are moving my office ONCE AGAIN...OMG....up two floors this time!!!  I really did NOT want to do this becaue we put so much blood sweat and tears and $$$$ into this not even a year ago but the space on the third floor came open and is way nicer and allows me to create a separate space for three people that are sharing a space now.  We should be ALL SET for a long time in our new home.  Jon and I have spent a lot of time moving and packing things this weekend.  The movers come on Tuesday at the end of the day and we and my staff will spend Wed-Fri. getting set up.  This is a massive undertaking because we have a lot more stuff than we did with the last move.  We had to have the space painted, a door put in a wall and carpets cleaned and we had to order some more furniture, and Jon has been hepling to coordinate all of this along with the IT work with our IT guy.  It is going to be a busy week but I am hopeful this time next week, we are set up and fairly situated so we can operate.  Then it will be time to turn my attention to our trip to Ohio at the end of the following week and then when we get back, the following Monday, Jackson starts school!!  We have his pre-school graduation next week on the 6th so things are in full force around here.

While Jon was once again at my office this morning, I was home and had a slow Sunday morning with the kids.  I decided to pull out the camera and just capture them as they were this morning and the phases they are in right now.  Sarabeth is towing the line between babyhood biggirldom...she still has her paci and is still in diapers and sleeps in her crib as a new two year old however I would wager to bet in the next 6 months all of these last babydom items will be gone.  I have mixed feelings about this as she is very likely our last baby so part of me does not want to let the baby go but at the same time of course I don't want to hold her back.  It is wonderful to see her growing into a little girl and to hear her amazing vocabulary and see and hear just how much she comprehends!!  Today she was over-joyed to find the puzzles I had neatly stacked on her shelves in her closet.  Out of sight, out of mind...she had not seen them in a month or so and enjoyed putting them together this morning as if they were brand new!!

Across the hallway Jackson was busy in his room setting up his race tracks.  Whenever he sees me taking pictures of sissy, he always wants to make sure I am going to take his picture too...of course I was going to do the same for him but he wanted to be sure so he gave me some good poses....not so easy to get candids of him these days!  He is a ham though...boxers and all.  Our kitchen sink is leaking and I told him he needed to get dressed because I was going to call the plumber to come over and then he said "is the plumber a girl", I was bewildered at that question and said no, why and he said "well then I can stay in my boxers, boys can see me like this, but NOT girls"!!!  He is so funny these days at 5!!  He is still very much like his daddy with his energy level and seems to not need a large amount of sleep the way SB and I do.  He is up for anything all of the time, very social, and loves a good time.  I think his favorite things to do these days include swimming, playing with his friends (he prefers to play with boys most of the time at this age) and he also enjoyes tennis, and family Friday nights of swimming and playing in the game zone at the Moorings.  He loves golf cart rides with his daddy, the beach, ice cream, and he recently discovered the Wii and video games in general (I knew this day would come).  Maybe Santa will bring him a Wii for Christmas!!  He attended tennis camp at The Moorings this past week and then have a game zone room with air hockey, fooz ball, basketball, board games and a Wii.  They let the kids in the game zone in the mornings and afternoons at drop off time...hence him learning about the Wii, oh welll...everything in moderation.  Mario Cart is a big hit!!
