pictures tonight!

We have had a pretty quiet weekend which is good after the craziness of the week and work for both of us. We took the boat out yesterday because we had no other time obligations and we might as well use it more now while we still can. The water was perfectly flat so no worries about me getting bumped around. We found a new island in the river and had a really nice picnic lunch, then explored the island for shells, sea glass, etc. It is sunny again this morning and it looks like it will be another sun filled warm day in the low 80's. We'll get stuff done around the house today, Jon still has a few things to finish up in the nursery, I have the never ending task of laundry, then we'll probably enjoy the pool. The pool feels great to me as I can just float and get the weight off my feet, etc.

Tonight we have our maternity pictures at the beach. I hope the weather holds, it should based on the forecast. We are taking the photos around 6 pm because that is when the light is the best for the pictures. We'll let everyone know how it goes and post some when we have them.

Swelling feet and hands:(

The news this week is that my feet and hands are becoming increasingly swollen, and for the first time in the pregnancy, I am really and truly worn out and not feeling my best. Work pretty much takes it all out of me, it even feels worse than the first trimester exhaustion because on top of that clothing is uncomfortable, getting tight and my stomach is like dead weight. I know it will all be over soon so despite the symptoms of the third trimester, I am trying to enjoy being pregnant and remember what this is like. We do have our pregnancy pictures coming up this weekend at the beach. One of my co-workers does photos on the side and is really creative. She is going to take the photos on Sunday night around 6 or so at the beach so the lighting is just right. I am excited to see what she comes up with. She gave me a sample of her work and it was really good so hopefully our photos will be a nice reminder of the pregnancy for us to look back on. She is supposed to take Jackson's newborn shots, but that all depends on if he gets here in time...her husband is in the Coast Guard and they just found out they are being transferred to California and leave Florida on June 12th....yikes! Pray that he gets here early and we can do the photos!!

Hiccups!

Another week is passing us by.....they seem to be going faster and faster these days but that is good because that means that Jackson will be here soon! Jon and I completed our lamaze classes this week, they were long nights (two three hour sessions) but the time was well spent overall. Not much new going on with us really, just keeping busy with work during the week, trying to get as much sleep as possible right now, and looking forward to the weekends when we can relax and re-charge for the weeks to come.

Jackson has been experiencing the hiccups a lot lately! He had a strong case of the hiccups last night right when I wanted to go to sleep, even Jon got to feel those hiccups, and now again today as I sit typing, he has had them in the past but they seem to be more frequent and stronger lately! I wish there was something I could do for him, but at least the hiccups confirm for me that he is in fact still head down. Hope everone is having a good week!!

Head down!

We had our 33 or so week check up today and the doctor confirmed that Jackson is officially in the "head down" position lining up to make his entrance into the world:) I have had my suspicions of this the past few weeks (it has been three weeks since my last appointment and at the last one it was too early to make this determination). I'm no doctor, but common sense told me that there has been something very hard sitting on my bladder and most of the kicks are up in the rib region therefore I thought that could only mean he had finally made the turn south and was head down. He should stay in this position for good now as he is running out of room to wiggle and float around too much. I am relieved he is not breach (sp?) so as long as he lines up right and wants to come out with no other complications, we should not be facing a C-section. The doctor was happy with everything else too and said that I am rather good at being pregnant.....who knew. Don't think we're going to turn into the Duggar family or anything though.......we think 2 or 3 kids will be just fine but we'll just worry about the one in the oven right now and go from there:)

First Lamaze Class!

Last night was our first lamaze class........Jon was not happy that the three hour course happened to fall on the night of the final NCAA basketball game, but what can I do........we had to go this month as next month's classes will be too late! The class was interesting to say the least.......we have been dvring lots of baby shows on tv during the day and we watch them at night before bed so we've seen quite a few births at this point, but nothing as graphic as was shown in the class. We did learn a lot of information we did not know about the start of labor, and when to actually head for the hospital. We also got a very graphic demo of a fake (but real looking) pelvis and a baby doll that fit through the pelvis the way the real baby is supposed to come out. We'll see if that happens like they said. My favorite part was all the floor time......this was Jon's least favorite part. A bit too much enya-esque music playing for him, and too much darkness, but it was really nice and gave us a chance to focus on what lies ahead. We did have one moment where we totally lost it though......she had everyone on the floor, moms and coaches back to back and the music was playing and it was dark and she started talking about pilates and yoga type moves and I could just feel Jon fidgeting and getting uncomfortable, the heat was literally radiating off his back he was getting so hot from the whole thing and I just started laughing and shaking (silently thankfully) so hard because I knew he was getting very anxious and aggravated by the whole thing. Luckily the lights were off so hopefully we did not disturb those around us........oh well. You have to find the humor in some situations! Hopefully we will be able to find this same humor in the delivery room at some point in time.
