Progress Pictures: The AFTER pictures to date....

And here are the AFTER pictures to date...even I cannot believe how much we have already transformed this house in just 5 weeks of time!!!  Today marks one week since we moved and 5 weeks since we closed!!!  These pictures were actually taken last week so we've gotten things even more together since this time but I've been in the middle of  VERY BUSY work week..my client the Hospital District sets their annual budget THIS WEEK of all weeks so I've had a late night last night and another one tonight working 8-8 ugh.

Pictures of our progress thus far

Here are some pictures of our progress thus far...everyone just needs to come visit to see this in person to really get the perspective!  Roof comes off starting next week Wed. and we are now told that will be a 4 week long, loud, and messy process...good thing we will be in Ohio for some of that time.  Painters are still finishing up...we have no closet doors as those are all with the painters to be sprayed and then hung, and all doors inside the home also still need to be painted from cream to bright white...all finish and woodwork in this home was off white, UGH...so a small fortune in painting later, it is all getting updated for modern day life to bright white which looks so much better.  I need to post some of the before pictures so you can see how far we have come...this will be a work in progress ie kitchen, and 4 bathrooms to re-model, plus outdoor landscaping, and backyard patio and pool updates but just replacing the floors, and fresh paint and new appliances and a new roof and new carpets, plus entire new AC system and duct and new insulation is a good start.........when we are in Ohio the wood staircase will also get finished and be stained dark mahogany to match the floors with white painted spindles and white riser backs and that will also make a huge transformation!  Still also waiting on the tile floor guys to put the white carrera marble around the fire place and to remove the ugly green tile from the 80's...that should be done soon too.

We have landed!!!

We have had undeniably one of the hardest weeks of married life and life as a family last week with inferno Africa heat, drought (no rain here until tonight in nearly 3 weeks...#grass looks like straw) but we have MADE IT.  We have landed in our new home and we are about 90% unpacked after a weekend of hard work to unpack and get our life in order!!! I am still missing dining room furniture which Grandma and Grandpa have for us to get moved from up north, and I've got two living room sofas on custom order...I've got a great coffee table and some matching end tables to find and a nice rug and custom om stairway runniner to order and complete but we are getting there.  Out of the mouths of babes tonight Jackson said "mom, this really is a beautiful home, I'm really getting used to our new house and I really like it"!!!  He gets his excitement and positivity at hard times like this from Jon...love this about the person he is becoming!  Pictures coming soon I promise!!!  Roof comes off th house starting next week eeek...new metal Florida Key West-ish style roof (and best for hurricane insurance rates) coming starting next week...three weeks from now we might be free of daily roofers, painters ,and dumpsters in our driveway!!!  We are getting there.  # remnodel...foreverhome...don'tdothisifyou cannothandlestressofmessanddisorganization#MIGRAINE.

carpet is in and beautiful!!!

The carpet was installed in the kid's and the master bedroom today and it is beautiful!  I used a real high end carpet store in town and worked with someone that is on a board with me in town that owns the store and his employee who happens to be my CPA's mom.  They gave us a beautiful product!  I can't wait for everyone to visit and see how beautiful this is turning out.  Pictures soon.......the master is just to die for.  I've only seen carpet like this in really high end homes on the island and in magazines...google Karastan Perfectionist, and the color we chose is called "Blessing". I chose a Florida ish blue for the walls and it is so pretty!

It is stunning!  I chose a similar neutral creamish-light beige color for the kid's rooms but no wool carpet for them...we went with a softer plush that they really liked.  They have egyptian sun stone throughout our house now so they are looking forward to having soft floors to play on in their rooms!

The big closet install starts tomorrow and should finish up Friday with closets going into three bedrooms upstairs and the play room/den as well as the front entry way.  I will post pictures when they are in!

4th of the July with the Burrow Family

This 4th of July was more special than most because we received a special set of visitors who spent a day and a night with us here at Lake June!  The kids had so much fun with their cousins, there were even tears after the fun ended and we got to meet our newest cousin, Benjamin!  Thank you for making time during your vacation to visit us at Lake June!  I will let the pictures tell the story of our fun day and night together!
