boat trip photos

post- day one workout update
I am in PAIN from my head to my toes today.......mostly my legs and abs though. I have to fall down basically to sit....I was told though that sitting would be nearly impossible for the entire first week so I guess this is normal! I took 4 ibuprofens yesterday afternoon when I got home and I'll probably start with another two this morning!
We are taking Jackson out for an early morning boat ride so we'll post pictures of that later. It's nice here this morning but will likely rain in the afternoon so we'll go out soon and then be back in time for him to take his nap. Happy Sunday morning everyone!!

note for bootcamp post and link for Jackson's 12-15 month photos!!
P.S. on my previous post, the link is not "live", so delete the website in your browser and copy and paste the link and it will take you there, or just google "Longevity Bootcamp" and it will come up! There is a you tube video on there and it shows the obstacle course and the things I did just this morning!!
Here is the link to see Jackson's 12-15 month photos! It is a long story but we had to do the photos in two separate sessions, we were sick, then we were on vacation, then the photographer was on vacation...blah blah blah, but here they are!

1st day of Bootcamp
Today was my first day of bootcamp. See the link here to see what I will be doing over the next 6 weeks! I have enrolled in a 6 week bootcamp program led by 5 personal trainers. It is intense, we work out with our teams of 6 people 4 nights a week for an hour and an average bootcamp workout burns 500-600 calories. On top of that on our own we are each responsible to keep a food journal (which they check) and also to do 9 miles of cardio on our own either running, walking, or eliptical or an aerobics class counts for 3 miles. It's intense, there is even a military style obstacle course we do circuits on and a lot of running involved. We met today from 8am-11pm and of that time, we did the hardest workout ever for 2 hours and we were outside in the HEAT and HUMIDITY most of the time. I am committed to this program though and those who I know that have done it have lost anywhere between 10-20 pounds in this time frame. The diet is also very strict, only 1200 calories a day (you can eat that just by eating a Chili's or Applebee's "healthy" salad" if you are not careful)!! I'll track my progress and results on the blog, cheer me on, this is goign to be hard, but I need to do this for myself. Jon will be home with Jackson 4 nights a week now until I get home at 7 so it will be a sacrifice all around but its the only time I can workout since Jon now leaves for work before 6am, that shoots an early morning session.
On Monday I go for my first "inbody". They have this high tech machine at the gym that I have to step on without having eaten or drank anything for the past 10 hours and it will print out the BMI and other data. We do that again 3 weeks into the program and then at 6 weeks. Wish me luck!!

Morning swim
This weekend we have just been playing catch up in our lives and at our house! With Jon working nearly 12 hour days now 5 days a week, and I'm also full time, that does not leave a lot of time for taking care of what needs to happen at our house and in our yard!
Here are some pictures of Jackson and I swimming this morning...it's HOT here (and will be for two more months solid) so we took advantage of the early morning breeze (thanks to Hurricane Bill) and the semi-shaded pool (thanks to the palm trees that have now grown so big and tall)!
Hope everyone else is having a good weekend and gearing up for SCHOOL.......ALL of the teachers in our lives (Aunt Frances, Grandma, and Mimi) all start back to work tomorrow, good luck ladies!

Jackson's 1st Car!
We borrowed a little tikes car today from our neighbor just to see if Jackson was ready for it yet......as you will see from the pictures, HE IS READY AND HE LOVES THE CAR! I am not sure if I have menionted that he is OBSESSED with cars lately and really all things electronic that move... cars, boats, trains, planes....you get the idea! He can even say "car" and says the word and then makes the sound and points every time we see a car or a plane in the sky when we are in the pool!!
You can tell from the pictures just how much he loved it, guess its time to go get him his own. He liked the car so much that he through an absolute fit when it was time to come inside for lunch. The car is too big for in the house so it will be a toye foroutside and on the porch.....there is a paddle fan on the porch but it was getting so hot but he did not care, all he wants to do is sit in the car, move it backwards and forwards and get in and out of it while opening and closing the door....... we even got him to blow kisses and wave at us while he was "driving" happy Sunday everyone!

Happy birthday to Papa and a visit from the lawn service man Brad!
Today is Jackson's Papa's birthday........HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA/JIM......we hope you have a great day:)
We also had a visit from the lawn service man, Brad today........did I mention yet that Jackson is OBSESSED with cars, trucks, planes and really anything that moves and makes a loud noise and is electronic in nature......this obviously includes lawn mowers! Well as we were finishing up dinner tonight, we heard Brad outside mowing the front yard and Jon grabbed Jackson and ran outside to see the mower while I ran for the camera.......I'm still learning with this darn 50mm lens and it is particularly hard since my subject of choice to photograph MOVES all the time and I cannot tell you how many pictures I get of the back or top of his head, argh. Here are some shots from the excitment of our night! It's Wednesday already...really we cannot believe it, we have both had very busy weeks at work. Before we know it it will be Friday and then Saturday.......we are going to the Dave Matthew's Band concert in West Palm Saturday night with a group of friends so that should be fun, although I hate leaving my baby behind, but we'll be back yet that night, just a bit late so lucky for our babysitter Jesse...it will be big money for her that night! Hope everyone has a good rest of the week!!

nap time post shots and a few from the founatin park this am
We did A LOT of fun stuff the past few days as we had Megan visiting...here are some shots from this morning when we took Jackson to the fountain park (note all of his sunguard wear, he looks like a poster child for fighting skin cancer) and also here are some post-nap shots! He was in such a great mood when he got up and very playful...I had to catch some shots, I love when he is like this. I wish I could greet him from his afternoon nap every single day!!

beach and thrift stores today!
Megan, Jackson and I hit the beach this morning.......not early enough though, as we pulled into the parking lot at 9:24am, my car was already reading 87 degrees and that does not take in the humidity that must be at near 100%, we did the best we could but we only lasted about an hour and fifteen minutes! It is seriously HOT here. This afternoon we left Jack at home while he napped and hit up the thrift stores in Vero and also Marshall's and Home Goods at Megan's request, we found some great finds (books for Jack for .20 cents a piece and they are like vintage old fashioned golden book style and other favorites, and a cool airplane toy for .99 (he is obsessed with cars and planes since our trip in July) ........I am not kidding, when we walked out of Marshall's at 5pm, it felt like a wall of fire hit us in the face, or that feeling you get when you open the oven to check on whatever is baking and the intense heat blasts you in the eyes........it's hot here... August and September are the Florida version of winter....mental note for the future, I never ever want to be in the end of a pregnancy at this time of year down here, I would not make it!!!
Good thing that we found out today that our friend Josh and his new fiance Heather are getting married next year mid-August in PERRYSBURG so we will get to escape this horrid August heat for a bit (congrats to the newly engaged Josh & Heather)! The bad news is that means we won't make it home for the 4th of July, bummer.

Bubbles.......
Jackson was a little wild man today after he got home from school, he always puts up a BIG fuss when I walk in the door as if Jon and Megan are not feeding him and meeting his needs........but as soon as I hold him he instantly calms and then is fine to go back in his chair and eat the rest of his dinner or do whatever else his little heart desires at the moment. Tonight he was especially tired and a bit on the extra fussy side. It was not until Megan thought to get the bubbles out that he really focused on the task at hand and seemed to relax tonight. He was REALLY into them, I mean it, if the humidity and the bugs had not gotten the better of us all, I think we would have sat out there and played "bubbles" for an hour!
In other news, Nicco slept the ENTIRE day in our room under a side table. I checked on him when i got home and he did finally wander out around 8 tonight to use his litter box and eat some dinner. I bet he did not sleep for three days, poor little fella and yes...Jon got the screen fixed so no more escape route!!
Nicco has returned!
I have been so busy this week I have not had a chance to mention that we have been missing a very important member of our family since SUNDAY NIGHT! Nicco escaped through a hole in the screen on our porch on Sunday night and usually he just stays in the backyard and comes in when he is ready to.......well Monday came and went and there was no sign of our little kitty. Same thing on Tuesday and by now we were getting worried. It has POURED rain the past two nights as well so I knew if he was anywhere in the vicinity of our yard or house he would have come running. Never mind the fact that he is only barely 10 pounds and has no front claws so can't even defend himself and there are bad things outside in Florida for a cat like him!!
So, you can imagine the scnarios that have been running through our minds these past few days. I even called the Humane Society yesterday to report him "missing" to see if they had by chance somehow picked him up or if animal control had found him! If he had not turned up today I was going to put Megan on posting flyers around the neighborhood in case someone had taken him in. He is so loving, I was just sure he was cuddled up with some old lady somewhere around here!!
Well, luckily the lady at the Humane Society told me that he had probably just "lost his scent" and gotten lost as to how to find his way back to our house due to all of the rain. She said it would sound weird, but that we needed to put his litter from his litter box outside all over the perimiter of our house and yard so he could find his way back.....and it worked! Low and behold, this morning at 6:22 in the morning as I was walking across the house to get Jackson from his room, I saw Nicco sitting out on the deck and he ran right in through the hole in the screen as soon as he saw me! He was a little rough looking and very wet from the rain but other than that he is going to be ok:) He was very hungry and ate right away........now Jon's main job today is to FIX THE SCREEN so my little scoundrel cat does not escape again!!!

beach photos with Aunt Megan
Tonight we had to re-take some of Jackson's photos from his 12 month shots because he had a paci rash and scratch on his face when we did those! When we were finished, Megan and I attempted to take some more pictures of Jackson.........we did our best but we did not have our nice Canon camera, and also it was nearly 90 degrees still and near 100% humidity and we were all covered in sand from keeping up with Jackson for the photos.......this is why people actually go to school to become photographers and we should keep our day jobs!! We took 55 photos, about 5 our decent, enjoy!!
