Attack of the stomach flu!!

We have had an attack of the stomach flu at our house this week. First I got sick in the middle of the night Monday and was down all day Tuesday at home sick, then Jon came down with it just about 24 hours later on Tuesday night and was home sick all day Wednesday. So far, Jackson is NOT exhibiting symptoms, although I think he was the carrier in all of this!! Half the parents at the daycare have been sick and the room of babies gets smaller and smaller each day, both teachers have been sick a day this week with it. I PRAY he does not come down with it this weekend, that will be just perfect.

Saturday with my baby boy!

Jackson and I had a special Saturday to hang out today. Jon had to work the annual convention/trade show for his business in Orlando so Jack and I had a special day all to ourselves. I don't think we have had a day like this since our days of maternity leave OH SO LONG AGO!! Let me tell you, these days are so much more fun now too since he is almost 9 months old (how did that happen already) and so able and willing to do so many fun things! We started our Saturday morning off like normal, up at the crack of dawn (Jack actually first woke at 6:18am, the kid has no concept of Saturdays or WEEKENDS) but I let him "play" in his bed until I finally went in and got him at 6:55!! Then, because he got up so early, by 8:25 he had had his breakfast, been changed and played for a while and was back down for a nap. After the nap (all of 25 minutes) we got ourselves together and were out the door by mid-morning to head down to Vero for the Junior League annual giant community garage sale. I worked the set up Friday night so I could get first dibs on the great stuff. There is always tons of cool kid stuff, I came home with a huge box full of nice like new toys and some clothes for Jack and some surprises for his cousins Grace and Elisabeth too......be on the look out for packages to arrive late next week up there ladies!!

After we cruised through the garage sale in our jogging stroller and Jack was oohed and ahhed over by lots of our friends who have not seen him in a while, we headed on down the beach to the farmer's market. We got some organically grown sweet bell peppers to put with dinner tomorrow night, some juicy red tomatoes, some home made bread and a bag full of ruby red grape fruits and oranges from our friends Lewis and Kelly who have their own citrus grove here in Vero!! By the time we were done with all of this Jack was getting tired of the stroller so we skipped the park and the swings and headed back to the car for a bottle ("ba") as Jackson calls it. I started the car to get the AC going and cool us down and then hopped in the back to help with the "ba". Jack then fell asleep and we drove all the way out to the outlets at the other end of town because I think Jack grew two inches in length this past week and all the sudden most of his pants are short and he is popping out of all of his pj's!! Luckily we have an amazing Carter's outlet that was having a 50% off sale (although that stuff adds up fast as I found out today, even at 50% off), I had to put some things back once things started to ring up........but we had a blast! I love my little boy so much and wish there were more Saturdays in the week to have fun adventures like we had today! We'll go for a long bike ride tomorrow in the now infamous bike seat, it's supposed to be warm and sunny and maybe we'll explore around and find a different playground to check out, this is the best time of year in Florida, no bugs, no humidity and the sun is not scorching and it is not beastly hot like the summer months.......have a great weekend everyone, here are some recent pictures of Jack, he is really growing a lot right now!!

We got it on Amazon.com, you can get it new or used, we got ours used, it is just like new, I think it was around 100.00 or so.

It is called the iBert Safe-T Front Mounted Child Bicycle Seat

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! This is one of my favorite holidays, I love all the pink and red and the hearts everywhere you look!! In continuing my family's tradition of setting out little gifts for everyone at their seat at the table for them to be surprised with first thing in the morning, I did that for Jack and Jon and our pets. Jon said "no fair", I don't have a card yet and yours is not wrapped when he saw it all........oh well, he quickly improvised and I had something at my seat too before I knew it, we don't really exchange gifts, just a litlte something and he had gotten something, just forgot to wrap it and put it all together! I guess he has not caught on to the trend the past three years but luckily I didn't care too much! It was more fun to watch everyone else open their surprises, even the dogs and Nicco got a little something. They always know when we are exchanging gifts or something exciting is going on so of course we have to include them too:) By now everyone should have received their valentine's day cards from Jackson, here are some more photos from last Sunday's valentine's day photo shoot in our back yard ala photographer daddy Jon!! Have a nice weekend everyone!! No big plans for us, we had a very busy week, we've got to clean, grocery shop, we'll have a nice dinner at home tonight and maybe go for a boat ride tomorrow as it is a warm weekend here.

Another weekend goes by......

Why do the weekends always seem to come and go so fast, Sunday nights are always a bummer because we're occupied with getting everything together so we can function on Monday and survive the week! This will be an especially rough week because Jon is covering the branch since a co-worker is on vacation so that means he leaves the house every single morning by 6:30 which leaves me to contend with feeding three animals, feeding and dressing a baby and also myself all before we walk out the door at 7:40am, ugh. It is bad enough when he has these weeks and it is just two days or so but 5 in a row just might do me in!!

Jack and I spent a lot of quality time together this week playing and exploring EVERYTHING and EVERYWHERE in the house since he is increasingly mobile. He is no longer happy with just crawling, he pulls up on everything he can (including the backs of my legs) and tries to cruise along the furniture......I will be shocked if this child is not walking on or more than likely before his first birthday!! Here are some pictures of him enjoying his favorite treat, a gerber biter biscuit, and of him crusing along the furniture in his room (there is carpet in there, so a safe space for these explorations)!!!
