1350 Indian Mound Trail

We sold our beloved 1190 Leeward Lane home this past week Wednesday and purchased our new home located at 1350 Indian Mound Trail.  This is bittersweet and I am sure there will be a few tears shed when we lock up for the last time here.  Sarabeth learned to walk in this house and celebrated her first-5th birthdays here!  Jackson turned 4 the day we moved into this home.......and has grown from 4-8 in the blink of an eye!  We've lived in our first true "neighborhood" here and grown to love our neighbors and made our first neighbhorhood childhood friends. We hope to make more happy memories at our new home and ask for everyone's thoughts and patience if we are slow to return calls and emails during the coming weeks as we go through this masive transition!  Thank goodness it is summer time and we don't have school and homework to contend with.  We have taken on a very big project with this home but it will be grand when we give it a face lift and bring it out of the late 80's into present day time and life!  We will grow into this house and not out of it as we go from 2500  square feet to 4100 and move into our first two story home in Florida...we hope we will find friendly faces in neighbors and friends in our new neighborhood (next door to our old one) and we hope to NOT move again while the children are young and at home..........here is hoping we have found our "forever" home!  As the closing agent and the buyer and seller completing both closings through my office this took a lot of focus and attention and was quite difficult but we pulled it off closing back to back on 6.15 on both transactions through my office!  Let the re-modeling fun and games begin so we can make this house our home!  We are scheduled to move 7.13....peace be with us these next few weeks!!!

Lake stay-cation

Here are a few pictures from our lake stay-cation...oh and on the way there we had a history lesson: we got stuck in traffic, just the kids and dogs and I...for 2 hours all roads stopped in the area as President Obama's motorcade went by on the way to the local Fort Pierce airport where he was flying out of after a weekend of golf in Florida!!!.  We had a lot of rain and clouds thanks to a badly timed tropical storm that over-whelmed the state of Florida the week of our vacation but we still got our front room re-model completed and set up and managed to have some fun too!  Mostly we just enjoyed not going to work and school and spending some much needed down time together!!

Sarabeth's trip to the American girl store, gymnastics birthday party and family week at the lake

Following Sarabeth's real birthday she had some extra fun days...Friday June 3rd she and I drove to and from Orlando for a fun filled day and lunch at the Orlando American Girl Store!  She loved this so much.  We had fun using her gift cards (thank you everyone that contributed to her shopping fun) and selecting some special items for her dolls.  We got a double stroller (top of her list) and she got the Doll of the year, Leah, and some fun outfits and accessories for her existing dolls, Isabelle, and Bitty Baby!!  It was an American Girl birthday for sure!!  The day after our marathon trip to and from Orlando we had her birthday party at Christi's our local gymnastics gym, with her pre-school friends.  She had about 10 friends there and it was just right! She really loved that it was just her party and had a lot of fun with her friends.  We had lunch following the gymnastics play time and cupcakes and then it was time to head home.  The next day was Sunday and one very exhausted mama packed up the household including two dogs and we took off for a much needed week of family time at the lake.  There was a tropical storm off shore the entire week which was a bummer because we had clouds and rain all week but the first few days it really was fine as we got stuff done at the house, finished setting up the newly remodeled downstairs space, and just hung out.  By about Wednesday the rain was really starting to be a bummer  but we made the best of it...even attempted a trip to Legoland (bust...rained out in just two hours, darn it) and met friends there that then followed us back to the lake for a few days and nights to round out the week!  By Saturday (day before we had to leave) the weather decided to cooperate so we got one good solid lake day in and lots of other stuff done all week.  It was still nice to have a week off and boy was I glad we were not sitting somewhere at an expensive rental or resort in the rain!!!

We returned home and hit the ground running hard because we had LOTS of work ahead (especially mommy) to prepare for the two closings to sell our beloved home and buy a new home which will hopefully become even more beloved to us than the home we just sold...
