Easter Sunday

The Easter Bunny was pretty tired Sunday morning and Saturday night but he was good to us!  The kids enjoyed an indoor egg hunt and awoke to sand pails filled with pool and outdoor toys by their bedroom doors and baskets on the table.  We had plans to attend mass but that did not happen we were just so tired from the trip, having only returned home the afternoon before after  a week of being up late and off schedules, we figured Easter Sunday at home was a better plan.  We met our friends the McManus family for brunch at the Moorings at noon and had a nice brunch and then returned home for more r and r and getting ready to face the week!  Here are some pictures from Easter Sunday 2016!!!

Spring Break Cruise Vacation Pictures

We spent this past week aboard the Royal Caribbean Independence of the Seas ship for a Western Caribbean cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. Before the cruise we drove down one day early and checked out the all new Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville Resort in Hollywood Florida and got to visit our friends the Shermans!! We enjoyed a nice day and night at the brand new resort that has only been open a few months and also had a nice dinner with the Shermans.

The crazy el nino weather that has plagued us all year giving us lots more rain and wind than normal and colder temps struck again at the WORST time giving us crazy cooler temps in the 50's (no joke) the morning we boarded the ship (about 30 degrees cooler than normal for March in South Florida) accompanied by crazy whipping wind so the first two days and the first sea day on the ship we spent inside....not my idea of a Caribbean cruise but hey....we got to ice skate.....and saw the ice show...all things I knew existed on some ships but have never taken the time to do because we are normally at the pool....thankfully when we arrived at the island of Labadee between Haiti and Jamaica on Wednesday it was hot and tropical like and NO DARN WIND. We enjoyed a wonderful day at Labadee which is one of Royal Caribbean's private islands and hands down one of the nicest places we've ever been by cruise ship, a true tropical island, and it had history to it too, having been one of the places Christopher Columbus landed on!! After Labadee and a day relaxing on the beach bed we rented (this was by far everyone's favorite day) we spent another fun day in Jamaica and enjoyed a third great day for our last sea day aboard the ship (this time enjoying the pool and fruit smoothies like a normal cruise and sun...no wind) while we sailed back to Fort Lauderdale. Jackson came down with a cold day one of the trip which I then got day 3 and Sarabeth now has back home but all in all we still got to get away and had some fun...now if I could just catch my energy to deal with the craziness that is still awaiting me back at work! We returned home Saturday afternoon and immediately unpacked, started laundry and getting our act together for Easter, the Easter bunny, and what has started out as expected to be a crazy work week. We colored eggs Saturday night, set out our baskets for the Easter bunny, and awoke Sunday morning to an indoor egg hunt (sprinkler system and too many bugs outside to risk outdoor eggs hidden by the bunny the night before)....and while we had intentions of making mass, we were just exhausted so said a prayer for our poor tired family and relaxed at home that morning and then lazily dressed for brunch where we met another family for brunch at noon at the Moorings! I cannot believe Easter is over and gone already and April Fool's day is around the corner on Friday....here is hoping I get my energy back by Friday! The kids were both off school yet today which was a God Send and Ann returned to help finish the laundry and keep the kids today while Jon and I headed back out to the working world. Jackson was so tired he slept 14 hours straight...no joke! Went to bed at 8:30 last night and slept until 10:30 AM!!! Here are some of our favorite pictures from our cruise vacation!!!
