October Fall days and weeks

Life is flying by in our household these days as we are deep into the first quarter of school, still trying to get our school groove fully in place at times. The first quarter is always an adjustment/transition and a bit of a mess tryhing to figure out whose on first and the teachers, curriculum, etc. but I am hoping we are almost there.  There have been on outbreaks of the pandemic at school, no school closures, and we have all stayed pretty healthy.  The kids have to wear masks to school daily but they are taking it in stride and doing pretty well.  Sometimes we all feel like a hampster in a wheel M-F with the grueling early mornings and long days of school and work and homework/studying filled nights!    Jackson's teachers are mostly the same as last year in the middle school and Sarabeth also has her same teacher from last year so on that end things are easy but they are both doing more work than last year and as always its just an adjustment.  We try to break up the grueling weeks with some weekend RV trips or lake trips here and there.  Its nice to be able to still get away and go somewhere but still be in our own space and not in public places when we take the RV or go to the lake!

Its still hot as ever here, today it was in the 90s again and I got a bit of a sunburn even at our own backyard pool but we have our Halloween and fall decorations out and are trying to get into the spirit of things.  With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year we are gearing up for a Halloween party and gathering with close friends and really looking forward to it.  Our neighborhood is limiting the number of guests each household can invite but we are still going to do Halloween.  This is a HUGE event in our neighborhood as everyone goes all out with decorations and we have a ton of kids that live here too so its really probably one of the funnest days of the year on Indian Mound Trail in Castaway Cove!  I have friends that live on our street and in our neighborhood as well so we are trying to coordinate and break up who is inviting who to conserve our  invite tickets!!

Last weekend we took the RV and stayed at a campground some camping friends of ours we met in the keys recommended at Flagler Beach just north of Daytona and just south of St. Augustine, right on the ocean!  We had a great time at the beach and went up to St. Augustine for a day to see the sights and history there.  We've also been to River Ranch which is about 45 minutes from our house for a fun weekend with the RV and took our bikes for the first time which were really fun to have there. We've been to the lake and also just been home.  Both kids have had friends over from school and have also made more friends in the neighborhood so there are always kids running to and fro it seems these days!  Bikes, scooters, and helmets as well as skateboards are often obstacles in the garage and driveway but I'm glad they are outside and NOT ON SCREENS:)  These days Jack is very passionate about the election, I think he will be crushed if Trump does not win.......so we try to limit screen time and the awful commercials as much as possible!!!  Between the election and the Corona Virus its been one heck of a 2020!!!  Despite the crazy year some good things happened including the birth of a new cousin and nephew, Edward (Eddie), congratulations to Megan and Erik!  We look forward to the day we can meet him and the world is right again!!  I also had a friend have a birthday party a girls only "pajama" themed party which was just the bit of fun we all needed right now.  I also did a small spa day for my staff at Polished where I get my nails done.  I will let the pictures tell the story!!

Here are some pictures of life lately in our neck of the woods!!
