Kitchen is coming along and St. Lucia photos

Despite a lot of chaos in our lives at home with a full on kitchen re-model that is still going on, and at work with some unexpected staff changes we have had to live through, we were able to get away for just about a week to celebrate our 40th birthdays and our upcoming 15th wedding anniversary!  Thank you to Mimi and Papa for coming to spend a week in our world so we could take this trip!  We went to the Sandals Grande St. Lucian resort in St. Lucia and had a beatufiul over the water bungalow suite.  I thought the butler was joking when he said most people that get these rooms barely even go to the resort to use the pools......he was not wrong we had all we needed right on our dock including our own float, they brought us food, from any resort restaurant, the spa came to us when we wanted a massage, and they even delivered our own kayak and paddle board daily!  This was the most relaxing vacation we have ever taken and we found both the resort to be very nice as well as the island and the people of St. Lucia.  From our private transfer from the airport via luxury vehicle to the private drop off back at the airport (just like other places the airport is like two hours from the resort in winding mountain Caribbean roads where the person that honks first gets to go around the curve first) the service was wonderful and worth the extra we spent to book into this level of a room and reservation.  Our room and amenities made this trip!!   One day we did do an excursion and went to another part of St. Lucia where we got to see the Pitons, coffee beans and plantations as well as chocolate made and some beautiful scenery and fishing villages.

In other news the kitchen is coming along, we are down to the finish work and a lot of the custom things we ordered including our locker cabinet for the kids backpacks and shoes, and our banquette.  I feel like it will be 2-3 more weeks before we are living without contractors and are in the kitchen......then the fun of setting the kitchen up can begin!  I am looking forward to FINALLY getting this kitchen right. We lived with not enough drawer space in the old kitchen and nothing was ever really set up right from the get go there was so much going on when we moved into the house with other construction, things just landed where they landed.  I am looking forward to setting this up nice and slow so we get it right this time and we will have more than enough cabinet space for sure!!!

Until next time, St. Lucia!

The pictures of the ladies above were two of our wonderful butlers.  The girl on the right was actually OFF the day this photo was taken but she came to say goodbye to us!  The people of this country were really welcoming and thankful to have us choose their country to visit and of many places we have been in the Caribbean (it is Caribbean) but it is NOT as bad as some places we have seen and we both thought was more progressive than most.
